This Saturday, when the Trojans take the field against the Cougars, it will mark the first time that the Watkins brothers have lined up as opponents.
Even though their dimensions are drastically different, Todd and Travis Watkins are brothers. Both are 6-foot-3, but that’s where the similarity
stops.
Travis, the older brother by about 17 months, played for one season with his younger brother, when they both attended San Diego’s Helix High (the same school
that Reggie Bush attended), and now backs up for Southern Cal at guard. Todd is an up-and-coming receiver for BYU, leading the team with 204 yards receiving
this season.
According to their parents, they will attempt to stay neutral during the game. But I’m sure none of us will blame the Watkins if they happen to hoist a
Victory sign or two.
