The Los Angeles Times annoints

Steve Smith as the official new #1 receiver at USC in today’s edition. With 2 TDs and 25 catches, we here at TrojanWire would begrudgingly agree.

Begrudgingly, because Dwayne Jarrett has certainly been making his case for being the official go-to guy as well.

But why argue over the details? Regardless of who is numero uno on the Trojan O, Matt Leinart has to be thrilled to be able to choose between these guys

when he drops back to pass. That is, of course, assuming he can’t hit Reggie Bush in the flat.
