Just a reminder to those of you who may be taking USC’s current winning streak (and all of Coach Carroll’s exceptional work as head coach) for granted–at

the time of his hiring, Pete Carroll was widely believed to be Athletic Director Mike Garrett’s fourth choice behind Mike Bellotti, Mike Riley and Dennis

Erickson.

Those three are presently a combined 4-11 this season for Oregon, Oregon State and the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers.

I’m sure Trojan fans everywhere can agree–regardless of Garrett’s original intentions, we sure are glad the way everything worked out.
