No Instant Replay this Saturday

USC Coach Pete Carroll is no fan of instant replay.

“Why stop a game if you’re going to make mistakes fixing mistakes?” Carroll said.

“At Arizona State (on Oct. 1), we had four reviews, and it seemed like it took forever. We were standing on the field with our arms folded, waiting for a decision.”

Normally, Pac-10 rules don’t offer a choice in the matter. But since Notre Dame is a non-conference game, USC, as a visitor, has a choice in the matter. And Pete said no thanks.

Saturday’s game will be the only one in the nation this season in which replay was available and turned down.
