One can only idly guess how many other similar scenarios might be out there undiscovered in the high-profile Division I collegiate athletic landscape that fraudulently masquerades as amateur sports.
Indeed, considering that USC reportedly earned more than $65 million last year from its football team and that Reggie Bush, its most spectacular player, didn’t earn anything faintly commensurate to his value his athletic scholarship was worth $42,000 one doesn’t exactly perceive it as a major felony if Lamar Griffin and wife Denise decided to take advantage of their son’s notoriety.
