Starting defensive end Lawrence Jackson is a philosophy major and a real cerebral player:

I’m interested in how the world turns. I’m really into the awareness of ‘If this happens, then that happens.’ I look at things that happen and why they happen. When people look at something from one direction, they can’t know everything fully. You have to understand what you don’t understand to have a global point of view. I’ve always been like that since I was a kid. I think about stuff the average person doesn’t think about.
