Long Beach Poly recruit Travon Patterson is making an early impression:

“Some guys are fast but not necessarily football fast,” USC coach Pete Carroll said. “He’s just as fast on the field and his speed really adds something to our team.”

With Steve Smith returning as a starter, Patterson will probably not see any time at wide receiver, but could get a chance to showcase his speed returning kicks or punts.
