On their bye week, and with the dismantling of Texas by Ohio State, USC moved up to #2 in the USA Today/Coaches Poll (which counts towards determining the BCS), but dropped to #4 in the AP with Notre Dame and Auburn barely jumping ahead of them.

USC is still perceived to control its own destiny though; because they play Notre Dame, and if Auburn goes undefeated, USC still has a tougher schedule.
