Just in case you missed it — Notre Dame didn’t even bother to show up to their game against Michigan today. The Wolverines pulled into South Bend and ravaged the Irish 47-21. Get ready for a chorus of “oh yeah, we knew they were overrated” from the very pundits who hyped the Irish since spring practice ended.
Elsewhere on college football’s “Separation Saturday” (ESPN may sue us if we don’t call it that), Auburn bested LSU 7-3 in a defensive battle, Louisville beat Miami 31-7 but lost their QB in the process, and Oregon got some questionable late-game calls to help them come back and beat Oklahoma 34-33 in Eugene. Still to come, Florida State-Clemson, Florida-Tennessee, and of course the Trojans’ home opener against Nebraska.
And then of course, we’ve got a full slate of NFL games on tap tomorrow. Football fans, does it get any better than this?
