Don’t ask why this particular story caught our eye, but it did. Apparently the higher-ups at Cal-State Bakersfield are considering changing their name to the sleeker, more aerodynamic Bakersfield State. Bakersfield Californian sports columnist Andy Kehe gives 10 reasons why the change should happen.

For what it’s worth, we here at TrojanWire say do it. Bakersfield State Roadrunners does have a nice name to it. That’s a team that comes in and almost upset you, then totally blows it in the 4th quarter. We’re all hoping it will bring the Roadrunners one step closer to getting a football team and a seat at the big kids table.
