From Wednesday’s L.A. Times:
Dwayne Polee Jr., a 6-foot-6 freshman guard, said Tuesday he has made a commitment to USC, even though he has yet to play in a high school basketball game and is only 14 years old.
Polee’s father was a standout at Los Angeles Manual Arts and Pepperdine; he’s been working out at USC on his own, and apparently fell in love with the school.
The commitment is non-binding, and Polee could change his mind, just like Taylor King of Mater Dei, who committed to UCLA early and then wound up signing with Duke. But Polee says he’s certain about his choice, and will focus on refining his game and getting the grades he’ll need to play for the Trojans.
