Just barely sneaking in before the start of action today, here’s your Week 8 Action News Power Rankings:

T-Wire/Action News Pac-10 Power Rankings – Week 8

USC - Ron Burgundy1.) USC

Ron’s latest accomplishment — most maligned 6-0 performance in modern history.

Cal - Wes Mantooth2.) Cal

Cal’s student paper is already counting a W for the Bears’ November 18th matchup with the Trojans. Guess we’ll have to take your word for it, #2.

Oregon - Brick Tamland3.) Oregon

Ducks’ focus (after losing the Patchouli Bowl) is on the pants party at Papa Burgundy’s on November 11.

Washington State - Garth Holliday4.) Washington State

It’s true, Garth moved UP after not scoring a TD at home with Wes Mantooth. But tell us this — are there any teams at 5-10 who the Cougars couldn’t beat right now?

Washington - Ed Harken5.) Washington

Not totally sure what to do with Washington after that Beavers loss, but from what we can tell, the heat tiles may be starting to come off the shuttle for Ty Willingham.

Oregon State - Frank Vitchard6.) Oregon State

The ol’ no-armed bandit came out and shocked the high-flying Ed Harken. Although tormenting an old man like that is just mean.

ASU - Brian Fantana7.) Arizona State

Yes, they are 0-3 in the Pac-10 — but they also got their 3 toughest opponents out of the way. Expect the Sun Devils to bust out some Blackbeard’s Delight in the second half.

Arizona - Champ Kind8.) Arizona

A lot of people will ask — how’d they go from 6 to 8 after WINNING? To which we’ll answer: (a) well, it was Stanford, and (b) we probably hooked the ‘Cats up a bit too much last week.

UCLA - Veronica Corningstone9.) UCLA

The Bruins’ season is such a mess right now, we ALMOST feel sorry for them. Almost.

Stanford - Public TV News Anchor10.) Stanford

We did some research — Stanford’s football team and Google’s stock price are at a direct inverse corollary. Meaning that the higher GOOG goes, the more doomed Walt Harris is.
