Lane Kiffin: Gone NFLin’

Lane Kiffin haters rejoice — the Trojans’ offensive coordinator has been tapped by Al Davis to replace Art Shell as head coach of the Oakland Raiders.

USC’s Steve Sarkisian was considered the front-runner for the job, but removed himself from consideration last week. But apparently Al Davis had a hankerin’ for some Trojan coaching, and thus he plucked Kiffin.

Kiffin took over for Norm Chow as offensive coordinator of the Trojans in 2005, when Chow departed for the NFL. Kiffin is the son of Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin.

  1. Why do we always have to go for the big name coaches? Why don’t we take a look at NIU’s offensive coordinator John Bond. Everywhere he goes his offense breaks enormous records. Why not bring in someone new who’s hungry for it?
