Michael Beasley Uncertain About Future at K-State

Well since my post earlier today, Coach Huggins has officially left K-State to coach at his alma mater (West Virginia) and Michael Beasley is unsure about his future with the team:

Considered by many to be the
top recruit in the nation, Michael Beasley expressed doubt Thursday to
CBS SportsLine.com about whether he’ll fulfill his commitment to Kansas State now that Bob Huggins has left for West Virginia.

"As of now I’m still signed with Kansas State," Beasley said. "But I don’t know what the future holds."

Dominique Sutton, a 6-4 180lb SF and fellow K-State commit, made it clear today that he and Michael would be a part of a package deal and after speaking with Beasley said there are three schools in the running:

"I spoke with Mike earlier today, and he said there were three schools who would take us," he said.

Which three schools?

"N.C. State, Florida State and USC," Sutton said.

To add to the drama, Sutton says that he and Beasley could be persuaded to honor their commitment if assistant coach Dalonte Hill remains at K-State.  It was known when Beasley decided on K-State that Hill, not Huggins, was the main reason for his commitment.  There is always the possibility that Huggins may take Hill along to West Virginia, which would further complicate things.

All of this might not matter because K-State’s AD, Tim Heiser, has said that he will not grant releases for the LOI, meaning the players would have to transfer and sit out a year before playing.

Should be really interesting to see how all of this unfolds….
