He was the first of only two USC Trojans to EVER become a three-time All-American.
As a renowned recruit, he showed up to USC’s first freshman meeting, stood up and said, “I’m Batman from Gotham City.”
The name stuck.
“Batman” went 31-3-2 in his career at USC, including national championships in 1972 and 1974.

It would be great to hear from you again and congratulations on the CFB HOF. There’s no doubt Thomas Jefferson class of 1971 was world class.
