He was the first of only two USC Trojans to EVER become a three-time All-American.

As a renowned recruit, he showed up to USC’s first freshman meeting, stood up and said, “I’m Batman from Gotham City.”

The name stuck.

“Batman” went 31-3-2 in his career at USC, including national championships in 1972 and 1974.

    Richard:

I have had no luck trying to reach you over the last 10+ years, even though your boy Steve Reese who lives here in the metro Atlanta area said he had the hook up. It would be great to hear from you again and congratulations on the CFB HOF. There’s no doubt Thomas Jefferson class of 1971 was world class.

    Best regards,
