- Marc Tyler is making a speedy recovery:
The No. 1 prep running back in America before
breaking his leg in November, Marc Tyler from Oaks Christian High of
Westlake Village is feeling a lot better – just one month after the
final screws were removed from his leg bone.So much better, in fact, that the USC-bound Tyler will work
out with the Oaks football team Monday, the first day of spring
practice. The 6-foot-1, 217-pounder might just be 100 percent when he
joins the Trojans in late June.
Will be interesting how this plays out. Many expected Tyler to redshirt this season to fully heal his leg, but if he’s 100% by the time he enters camp it will obviously increase the competition at the RB position. I think it’s almost certain at this point that at least one RB will transfer out by the end of next season; I would hate to see Tyler, Green, or Stafon be one of those people…
- What are they smoking up in Corvallis? From the Daily Barometer (student paper at Oregon State):
With three months left until Oregon State faces off against the Utah
Utes at Reser Stadium, fans are waiting in anticipation for the Beavers
to be unleashed on their 2007 schedule. Although the Beavs have secured
their own identity after defeating Missouri in the 2006 Sun Bowl, they
are starting to acquire an identity similar to that of a former BCS
Championship team – the 2004 USC Trojans.With
the offensive and defensive firepower, the Beavers have the potential
to unleash on their 2007 opponents. They could have a legitimate shot
at a Pac-10 Championship, or dare I say, a BCS Championship bowl birth. That’s just too funny….
- Dwayne Jarrett is a superstitious man:
And to a guy like Jarrett, you’d think the ultimate endorsement would
be to one day see himself on the cover of the game. If he’s so excited
about being in Madden that he gave me a pound and a hug for just
mentioning it, is Jarrett on the cover of Madden 09 the ultimate dream?"I don’t want to be on the cover, not at all," Jarrett says with a
grin. "That Madden Jinx is out there and it will get you. I have enough
stuff to worry about without the Jinx. I’m happy enough just to be in
the game."More on the Madden Jinx via Wikipedia.
