Ex-USC, Veteran NFL receiver Keyshawn Johnson has declined the Titans’ two year, $7-8 million dollar contract to take up a position with ESPN Television.

First pick over all in the 1996 draft, the soon to be 35 Johnson was the 16th player in NFL history with 800 career receptions. He was recently released by the Carolina Panthers after they drafted USC wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett.

“He just about took the Titans offer.” said agent Jerome Stanley. “The Titans made a good offer in the $7-8 million range over (2) years. It was tempting. But at the end of the day he wanted to do something else.”

As reported by Jim Wyatt, Tennessean.com

Keyshawn will announce his retirement at a press conference on the USC campus.
