Safety Josh Pinkard was arrested May 18 on the suspicion of drunk driving, reports Gary Klein of the LA Times. Pete Carroll confirmed Tuesday that the arrest had been made.
Pinkard, a junior from Oxnard, was arrested on May 18 at 3:44 a.m. after a California Highway Patrol officer noticed a car swerving…Pinkard, 21, gave a breath sample after he was stopped and another after he was taken to the CHP’s East Los Angeles station, according to (CHP Spokes person) Precardio.
In usual Pete Carroll fashion, he implied he would speak to Pinkard directly before making any judgments as to how this will affect the player and the team. This arrest is just one in a string of discipline problems faced by Carroll in the past two years. Legal woes have included such notable players as Eric Wright, Rey Maualuga, Mark Sanchez and Reggie Bush.
“We’re looking into it and we’ll find out the details,” Carroll said. “As usual, we’ll handle it internally. We take this seriously and we want to make sure we understand all of the circumstances.”
Josh Pinkard is scheduled to appear in East Los Angeles Municipal Court on July 24.
