So what did O.J. Mayo do his first night on campus as he waits to start summer school? Play basketball of course.
“I’ve been up since 4 a.m. Eastern time, so I’m pretty tired,” Mayo said. But he still played until around 10 p.m.
Mayo played on a team featuring his (very, very raw) future teammate, forward Davon Jefferson, and Arizona State-bound guard James Harden. Mayo and Harden are considered among the top 10 players in the nation for the Class of 2007.
