JD Booty didn’t thrown downfield much in the opener against Idaho– reminiscent of the early part of last season when they seemed to bring him along slowly. Most of his throws to his wide outs were shorter sideline stuff. His deepest throw down the middle went to tight end Fred Davis who ran for half of the 35 yards.
But Pete Carroll made sure he got out of the gate with some TDs, letting him throw the ball on four possessions inside the Idaho 10-yard line. He picked up three short TD passes before leaving early in the fourth quarter.
His biggest mistake was trying to force a pass to well-covered Vidal Hazelton in the first half, and was intercepted.
