USA Today’s computer rankings guru Jeff Sagarin wasn’t as impressed with the Trojans’ 38-10 win over 109th-ranked Idaho. His rankings this week drop USC (90.10) from the top spot to No. 2, fip-flopping the Trojans with LSU 93.99), last week’s No. 2 team.

The complete Sagarin ratings can be viewed at:http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbt07.htm

If there is any good news from the first week, USC remains ahead in the rankings the BCS computers use, without the margin of victory factored in, 91.59 to 91.16 over LSU. But in the rankings factoring in margin of victory, USC trails both LSU (97.39) and Georgia Tech (92.32), a 30-point winner over Notre Dame, at 88.32.

UCLA (86.20) is No. 13 this week with Nebraska, next week’s USC foe, No. 14 (86.07)

Cal’s 14-point win over Tennessee moved the Bears to No. 4 overall at 89.91.
