No POW for Rivers, Booty, Davis

OK, you decide this week’s Pac-10 Players of Week winners.

On defense, was it Cal safety Thomas DeCoud after his 10-tackle performance in the Bears’ unimpressive defensive showing in a 45-27 win over a lowly Arizona offense.

Or was it USC’s Keith Rivers after a 14-tackle effort in the Trojans’ romp over a good Washington State offense?

Right, DeCoud, of course.

Now on offense, was it Oregon’s Dennis Dixon after throwing for four TD against Stanford, and running for another, or John David Booty after throwing for four TD and completing 18 of 20 in one streak?

But of course, it was Dixon — for the second time this season.

Although neither may have had a better game than USC tight end Fred Davis for his record-setting nine catches for 124 yards and two TD catches against Washington State.

Maybe next week.

For those keeping score at home, top-ranked USC has one Pac-10 Player of the Week after four weeks of the season behind UCLA’s three, and the two each of Oregon, Cal and Stanford.
