BCS: Oregon #3, USC#17

Oregon is on a roll, beating the last unbeaten team in the Pac-10, the Arizona State Sun Devils. Couple that with the loss of another unbeaten, formerly #2 Boston College, and Oregon has moved up to #3 in the BCS rankings. Arizona State’s loss dropped them five slots to #9, where hopefully they’ll remain (if not move up) until they play USC in two weeks. Following a convincing win over Oregon State, the Trojans moved up only two spots from #19 to #17.

Are you a fan of Illinois, Michigan, Mississippi or Arkansas football? Well if you’re a Trojan fan and you like going to the Rose Bowl, now is a good time to start supporting one of those teams. That’s because they are the last two opponents of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the LSU Tigers respectively; the last defense between those top two BCS teams and a near-certain national title bid. Which means if they go to the title game, BCS #3, Oregon will not. If you’re picking up what I’m throwing down, if it happens that USC and Oregon both win out, then Oregon goes to the Rose Bowl. If Oregon makes the championship, however, then USC has a good chance of playing in Pasadena come the New Year.
