Hugh Hefner has always had a taste for the finer things in life, especially when it comes to higher-education. The Playboy visionary just donated $2 million to the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. The money will be used to create a central exhibition space in the Cinema-School building, as well as to fund an archive for student films and historical documents.

Hefner, a classic movie buff, has always had a passion for cinema. Movie nights are common in the Playboy Mansion, where his friends, family and bunnies gather for that home-felt movie experience. In 1992 Hefner gave $100,000 to USC to create “Censorship in Cinema”, a course in which each semester Hefner came to USC to give a guest lecture and, to the delight of the class, was always willing to take pictures with students eager to get a snap-shot with the American Icon.
