The cameras were on and the Trojans were shooting in the inaugural round of the Anaheim Classic. Taj Gibson and OJ Mayo each scored 20 points to close out the San Diego Toreros 60-50 in the first round of the 8-team, 12-game, bracketed classic. With the win, the Trojans improved to 3-1 on the season. There will be no turn around time for the Trojans, who face Miami of Ohio tonight. Miami of Ohio edged South Alabama 64-59 in the opening round.
Who ever wins tonight’s game goes on to play the winner of Mississippi State and Southern Illinois, for a shot at the final round and the Anaheim Classic Title.
