Last week the USC women’s soccer team broke new ground by reaching the farthest point the Trojans have ever made it in the NCAA women’s soccer post-season, to the sweet-sixteen. This Saturday it was the USC women’s soccer team, not the men’s football team, that was breaking records at the coliseum by defeating Florida 1-0, and advancing the Trojans to the quarterfinals where they will face West Virginia.

Freshman defender Kasey Johnson scored the only goal of the game, not to mention her first of the season, on a header from a free kick by Ashley Nick in the 47th minute. With the win, USC improved to 17-3-2 on the season.
