USC senior defensive end Lawrence Jackson was named as the Walter Camp Foundation defensive player of the week last week for his eight tackles (seven solo), four quarterback sacks and a forced fumble as then 11th-ranked USC kept its BCS bowl hopes alive with a 44-24 victory over sixth-ranked Arizona State.
Jackson’s four sacks were the most by a USC player since 1989.
The Walter Camp offensive player of the week was Arkansas’ Darren McFadden after his performance in leading the Razorbacks to a three-overtime upset win of No. 1 LSU.
