For the first time this season in the 13 weeks of the Pac-10 Player of the Week awards, USC has a defensive player named the winner.

Lawrence Jackson, with his four sacks, forced fumble and USC-record 5.5 tackles for loss was named Pac-10 POW on defense. That gives the No. 8 Trojans three of the league’s 40 POWs this season — two on offense (Stafon Johnson and Chauncey Washington) and now one on defense.
