One prominent USC figure frequently speaks about the way USC president Steven Sample wants the university to become Stanford academically while at the same time expecting athletes to flourish in the classroom (or at least stay eligible).
Even sacred cow O.J. Mayo, who said he received a 29 on the ACT, discussed it recently.
“The guy sitting next to me (in class) probably scored higher than me,” Mayo said. “So it’s pretty challenging in class too.”
