USC safety Taylor Mays already faced UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel several times, when Mays played at O’Dea High School in Seattle and Neuheisel was a volunteer assistant coach at Rainier Beach.
“We won when we played them,” Mays said.
That wasn’t the only connection.
“My brother played on the same team as his son,” Mays said.
