From Scottie Wolf:
Forward Leonard Washington is waiting to hear back from the NCAA
Clearinghouse to see if he met all academic requirements. Washington
signed with USC in 2006 but did not meet requirements. He is currently
back in Louisiana.
If cleared by the NCAA, he could play for the Trojans next season.
Leonard was once projected to be one of the top players in his class, but saw his stock drop throughout HS largely due to lack of development. During his senior year, some thought he was an underrated recruit, who played much stronger than his 3-star rating on Rivals/Scout. There’s no question he has offensive talent and plays tough around the rim, but there have been many questions about his character on-and-off the court. Does SC really want another player with considerable baggage? Personally I don’t think it’s worth the gamble.
