From DailyNews.com:

"I pretty much went in with the mindset that I wanted to go there and if they offered, I was going to go,” said Jackson, who de-committed from Fresno State on Tuesday night. "If it was anybody else but USC, I’d probably still be going to Fresno State. But I’ve been wanting to go to USC for a while.”

Jackson is 6-foot-5 and 225-pounds. He’s physical, quick and has a tremendous upside. He went largely unheralded until this season, because of academic issues and because he only participated in a handful of recruiting combines.

Malik is a 4-star prospect on Rivals and 3-star on Scout.  Obviously when you look at his size, you know he’s going to be a speed rusher at the next level.  Based on what I’ve read he’s somewhere in the 230 range, but has the frame to bulk up.  He probably won’t be an impact player for another year.  But for now, he brings much needed depth to the weakside DE spot.

Edit:  On the topic of depth, SC just picked up a transfer in Shane Horton, older brother of Wes Horton, from UNLV.  Shane will bring depth to the safety position.
