From FoxSports.com:
I completely forgot to report that ex-UConn wing Marcus Johnson was in the USC offices last week when I was out at the Galen Center on Friday. Johnson will not be attending Oregon State and will instead walk-on and play for Tim Floyd and the Trojans.
Marcus was a top 100 player coming out of Westchester High. He has one-year of eligibility remaining, but will likely apply for a medical waiver to gain eligibility he lost for playing in an exhibition game at UConn; his reason for leaving UConn was lack of PT. This is a great pick-up for SC, since Marcus will bring depth to the 2-spot behind Demar DeRozan. Also, coming from UConn, you know he’ll have a solid base to work off of and should assimilate quickly into Tim Floyd’s system. Marcus won’t be a big-time scorer for us, but he’s very athletic and at the very least can help defensively. H/T to Sleuth over at USCHoops.com for the link.
