Publisher/editor Nick Denton told her, “You’re a good writer, and your stories are fine; you just seem to wrestle with them for longer than we can afford. I don’t think you’re suited to the pace of Gawker.” Former editors Alex Balk and Choire Sicha expressed their rage at Denton. (Still, anyone who maintains Gawker is purely made of tripe factories like me can go argue that with Alex Pareene.)
