I had no problem with STEP UP 2’s acting and writing. I expected these to be bad, and actually enjoyed how bad they were. But am I the only one who was bothered by the poor editing and cinematography? It seemed like all the dance footage was poorly shot and choppily edited together. Boom mics kept dropping into shots. I couldn’t really understand some of the angles the director selected—it was really sort of a mess visually. I understand that on $22mm budgets you can’t really get good actors and writers, but you’d think you would invest in a half decent editor and cinematographer.
