At one point or another during the season, you may have seen Tim Floyd pacing the sidelines with fury, arguing with the referees, drawing technical fouls or even getting ejected. As reported by Adam Rose on All Things Trojan, the LA Times blog:

Tim Floyd started 2008 with a resolution to quit his Nicorette gum habit, which was running him $5,500 per year. A few days later he was back to the gum. Over the coming weeks, Mayo-Jefferson-Gibson could cause him to single-handedly raise the stock price of GlaxoSmithKline. That’s because they should be announcing their decisions about turning pro — and that will determine a lot about USC’s next season.

Mayo is the star, but Jefferson and Gibson might be more critical to the team because of their size. Take a peak at the Trojan’s roster without them. There’s nobody who’s proved that they can pound the boards, take a charge or hang with other teams’ bigs.

Everyone had expected Mayo to be a “one and done” but Tim Floyd may have a lot more stress coming his way if Gibson and Jefferson decide to follow suit. ’09 recruit Demar DeRozan has the potential to fill in for one of the lost boys, either Gibson or Jefferson, if they decide to go. DeRozan has the power to become the inside man, with smart defensive skills to boot. Keith Wilkinson has got good size and has shown his worth on the rebound, but he needs a lot of work on his offense in the paint. Dwight Lewis was hit-and-miss over the season, but has potential to grab mid-teens to 20 points per game next year.

And if all else fails…there’s always Romeo. Let’s just hope this version of Romeo doesn’t end up in tragedy.
