USC used quite a bit of shotgun today, a few days after practicing it extensively. The offense also used a “silent count” when snapping the ball. This is a way to keep the defense off balance, because they are so used to the offensive snap count from practice. It sometimes got the best of the offensive, which had several false starts.
And is it time to express concern about the run defense? USC allowed five runs more than 20 yards.
