Ahh, spring football, the time when football-hungry fans get their temporary fix while seeing next year’s probable starting lineup take the field as a unit for the first time. That is, as long as that lineup actually has pads on. Before the scrimmage Saturday, a line full of eager fans stretched outside of Howard Jones Field as football personnel checked onlookers’ IDs before entering the practice field.
