USC Basketball fans as of right now, this moment, right here…you have nothing to worry about…yet. DeMar DeRozan is still on course to become a Trojan. Doubts regarding DeRozan’s freshman commitment to ‘SC were raised after the Mayo-Guillory payola scandal broke. If USC was slapped with a post-season ban, DeRozan said he would reconsider his college choice. But as Adam Rose quotes reports on All Things Trojan, everything is so far so good. Key phrase being: so far.

“As of right now, nothing’s happened with the [NCAA investigation], so I’m going to stay committed to the school,” DeRozan said during an interview at the Pangos All-American Camp on the practice courts inside the Galen Center.

The 6-foot-6 Compton High shooting guard averaged 30.6 points his senior year, and is projected as the No. 3 pick in the 2009 draft by nbadraft.net. And as of right now, this moment, right here…you’ll be seeing him light up the Galen Center next season. And if it doesn’t work out? Hey, there’s always Leonard Washington.
