And now an official message from the President of the United States of America: USC women’s soccer and golf kicks supreme ass. Okay, President Bush didn’t actually say it…but it’s clear from the expression on his face he was thinking it. USC NCAA champion women’s soccer and golf teams were among the 20 national championship teams of ’07-08 welcomed June 24th to the White House by President Bush. According to a USC release on its athletic department website:

Bush addressed the assembled teams on the White House’s South Lawn, along with a crowd of senators, congressmen, coaches, athletic department staff members and fans. Each team had one player representative — including USC’s Ashley Nick (soccer) and Paola Moreno (golf) sharing the stage with Bush…He also posed for photos with each team inside the White House. The Women of Troy soccer team presented Bush with a soccer ball and jersey, while the golf team gave him a USC golf hat and golf club cover.

Kudos to the Champions!
