Pete Carroll Goes Nuclear (Literally)

You may fully trust Pete Carroll to control your football team, but would you trust him to operate an aircraft carrier the size of three and-a-half football fields? Oh, did I happen to mention it’s powered by two nuclear reactors capable of outputting 140,000 horses? Well the US government didn’t seem to have a problem letting Big Balls show off his big guns last month, letting him joyride a few hundred miles off the California Coast in the $4.5 billion dollar carrier USS John C. Stennis.

“Carroll joined fellow Trojans Steve Smith, Matt Leinart, Brad Buddle, Ron Yary, and Jeremy Hogue on a trip to the USS John C. Stennis. The crew of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier got autographs and even played catch with the USC group. The event sounded like a great moral booster and fun for all involved…And yes, Pete Carroll drove the aircraft carrier.”

The above quote comes from All Things Trojan’s follow up on the naval extravaganza, aptly entitled Pete Carroll’s Other Car is an Aircraft Carrier, which includes the original write up “Trojans for Troops – Our Weekend on the Stennis” written by former Trojan center Jeremy Hogue.
