LOS ANGELES — I’d probably be remiss if I didn’t include a note in about USC TB Joe McKnight joining QB Mark Sanchez in the Royal Golf Cart for the Injured Sunday with a hyperextended elbow, but coach Pete Carroll downplayed the severity of the injury to reporters after practice.

He said: “It’s not damaged or anything like that.” And added, “I don’t think it will be but a couple of days.”

McKnight tweaked the elbow during Saturday’s scrimmage.

I will be at the 4 p.m. practice, so I’ll fire out an update if it turns out to be something more serious.
