On a weekend when no teams ranked above USC took a tumble, the Trojans still made progress by leapfrogging BYU in the Associated Press poll.

USC is now 8th in the media ranking, while remaining at 9th in the USA Today coaches poll. The Trojans are the only team in the top 20 with just three wins, but have played fewer games than many teams at this point in the season.

Oregon, after getting hammered by the Trojans, dropped out of the Top 25 in both polls. The only other ranked Pac-10 team is Cal, sitting at 25th in the coaches poll.
