Pete Carroll said he spoke to former USC defensive line coach Ed Orgeron but did not offer him the defensive coordinator’s job.
“I did talk to Ed in case it didn’t work out with the other guys,” Carroll said. “I talked to a lot of guys. This is a pretty popular job.”
