The nation's best prep defensive end has picked USC.

Devon Kennard (6-foot-3, 257 pounds) of Desert Vista High, Ariz., made the announcement at a news conference at his school Tuesday morning. He picked USC over California and Texas.

Kennard missed most of this season with a knee injury but he had 111 tackles and 24.5 sacks as a junior.

He is ranked No. 14 overall on the ESPNU 150. Nine of USC's 17 commitments are ranked on the list.
