USC’s Rey Maualuga had a tough day at the NFL scouting combine.
Right at the end of his first 40-yard dash, Maualuga pulled up because of a hamstring injury.
Maualuga told NFL Network that he had tweaked the hamstring a couple of weeks ago and hadn’t done any full-bore sprinting until today.
The injury forced Maualuga to put on his sweats and end his workout.
He has about five weeks to recover before USC’s pro day, schedule for April 1.
It’s highly doubtful this will hurt Maualuga’s draft stock. I’d be shocked if he lasted past the middle of the first round.
