Quick hitters from USC’s Thursday practice, the last one before Saturday’s spring game:
** Linebacker Michael Morgan will miss the spring game because of a high right ankle sprain. Malcolm Smith took Morgan’s place, sliding from the weak side to the strong side, and Jordan Campbell moved into Smith’s spot.
** Center Kristofer O’Dowd, who hasn’t participated in spring practice after having offseason shoulder surgery, said doctors have cleared him to begin lifting.
** Tailbacks Stafon Johnson and Joe McKnight missed practice to take care of some academic responsibilities but are expected back Saturday, USC coach Pete Carroll said.
** Quarterback Aaron Corp threw his first interception of the spring. Nose tackle Jurrell Casey stepped into the path of a screen pass to end the streak.
