Sometimes I wonder if ESPN even has reporters west of the Rockies.  All they ever talk about is Brett Favre, Tom Brady, and A-Rod.  I do realize the Padres are usually piss poor, but lately they are RED HOT and they have the best first baseman and arguably the NL’s best closer.

Adrian Gonzalez leads the Majors with 18 Home Runs and Heath Bell leads the Majors with 14 Saves!  The Padres have won 11 of their last 12 and NO ONE, not even America’s largest sports network(ESPN) is taking notice.  ESPN has had a noticeable east coast bias over the years, but their boring-ass-coverage of horse racing, hockey, and bowling seriously needs to take a back seat to up and coming phenoms!

Water is wet, the sky is blue, and the Dodgers are notorious for late season implosions.  Whatever you do, don’t write Padres off yet!  There’s a new owner in town for the first time in 10+ years and if the Padres are in striking distance, they might actually keep Jake Peavy and add to this club by the trading deadline.
