I liked Tony Gwynn’s original plan of starting Tyler Lavigne on Friday in order to have him available for Sunday, but that would be way to Tony LaRusaesque.  Only a mad man or a gambler would’ve benched Strasburg in favor of Levigne against Virginia.

#1 Irvine lost yesterday and SDSU’s hopes are still alive today.  The question now is,  who will start for the Aztecs at 4:00PM PDT?  Strasburg is a power pitcher and TG says it takes him longer to recoup.  So what now?
