Not much of a surprise but Lakewood’s Jesse Scroggins, a top-prep quarterback, announced his decision today to join the Trojans. Whether he starts or not is another question, but he will likely light a fire under Barkley which will be sure to make summer competition a lot more interesting. As reported on Scout:

“I committed to USC,” said Scroggins. “I like a pro-style offense and that’s what USC runs. My interest in USC was always very high because it’s close to home and only 20 minutes up the road. Also, USC has a great tradition and everything about USC is awesome.”
